These days I get the impression that people think this is "THE INTERNET".
A lot of people are able to handle a limited amount of abstraction.

If you put "johnsoncarpentry.contractors" on the side of a vehicle, do
people not know it's a domain, or do you have to put
"www.johnsoncarpentry.contractors" so people will recognize it as a domain
or if you put
"johnsoncarpentry.com <http://johnsoncarpentry.com>" on a vehicle
people will know it's a domain and you don't have to put the "www".
