6 dB is worth going for, that is a doubling of the voltage at the front end amp 
of the receiver.  That is well worth having.  A noticeable improvement in 
overall performance.

3 dB does not even increase my heart rate.

  In my mind, (as you can see from the photo) 3 dB is not a big deal, but the 
ability to steer a null toward a source of interference is a big deal.
