You could probably get a deal on this car, it needs a little work:

I see most of those cars day to day, but I'm not likely to ever own one. A few
towns around here, you'll see Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Teslas,
Lotuses, etc., etc. I even saw a Fiskar a couple times.

I'm always struck dumb by these conversations. I've seen one or two Corvettes,
but they only come out in the summer. A Mustang or a Camaro is the most
"luxurious" car I'm likely to see day to day. My house was $68,000. I got a
Hyundai Accent for $10k. Debating between a $50,000 or $100,000 car seems
foreign to me.

At a dealership I saw a Viper on display, but seeing one on the road is like a
UFO sighting.

I've literally never seen a Tesla. That would be like seeing a NASA moon rover
on the street with Buzz Aldrin at the wheel. Severe rubbernecking would take
place.

I sort of agree with you on the model 3. But for the model S, it's great in
its market niche. If I were in the market for an Audi A8, BMW 750 or large
Mercedes S-class, the full size luxury sedans they're competing with...

In Vancouver and Seattle I have seen considerably fewer full size gasoline
luxury cars and a lot more new model S driving around in the last 2 years.

I would rather buy a model S/P100D and enjoy ludicrous mode.

The Model 3 is going to be a mess for their stock, once it actually

"Starting price of $35,000"... but that is a bare-bones model, and includes
the Fed tax break... which by the time they actually release cars, their
allotted amount of tax credits may already be used up by their current cars.
I'll bet more than half of the people ask for their deposits back once they see
the car is $50,000.

I've driven BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, Ferrari, and even a Lamborghini
for a test drive, and there are much better cars for $50k than what this Model
3 will be. There are WAY better cars than their current Model S for $100k+. The
whole company is riding the "hype train" and at some point, it will run out of
track. They can't keep losing $10k on every car they sell and stay in business
forever.

TSLA prices feel so predictable right now. Every quarter change they tank
because the books are so dire. Every mid-quarter they ride the hype train all
the way back up when Elon does another update or unveiling.

Wells Fargo is paying a 3.0% dividend right now... Tesla pays nothing.
Tesla is also highly overrated according to everyone in the stock market. If
it's a short-term thing, you may do OK... long term, you have to factor in the
3% you were making on Wells ($1,500/year) and compound that into the value.

Wells is still one of Warren Buffet's biggest holdings.
