So how do they ground airplanes?  I always assumed they used a potted plant, 
you’re saying that’s not true?

 

Back in my analog circuit design days, I remember we had “virtual grounds”.

They may have driven the rod through the bottom of the pot and between pavers.

Hopefully the picture is just for lolz.

 

A pipe strap on that bollard to the left of the plant would have been a 
legitimately decent temporary ground.

If all else failed, stab a screwdriver in between the brick pavers.
