Just add a new folder down in storage folders. Those are all local. Then you
can drag and drop stuff there.

Subject: [AFMUG] Outlook IMAP folder question

I remember in Outlook Express you could choose whether a folder was local or
server based. For example, you could make your Deleted, Sent or Junk folder
local, or you could create a 2015 folder to save last year’s emails and make it
local. If you changed a folder from server based to local, it would download
all the messages from the server to the local folder. In fact, this was quite
useful when for moving folders between servers, you could make the folder
local, change the server settings, then make it server based again.

I am trying to advise a customer how to do this in Outlook, and I can’t figure
it out or find any instructions on the web. It appears there is a local copy,
and you can control how much of the stuff on the server is kept local up to
“All”, but that is more of a cache and everything is still on the server.

Is there any way in an IMAP account in Outlook to make certain folders local
only?

I have trouble getting some customers to understand “the cloud”. Or the need
to get a bigger cloud if they are going to store all their crap in it.
