I suspect that the metal case really makes GPS reception a problem. They
could mount the antenna externally I suppose, but OTOH, you'd like to
use one GPS source per site. Putting a GPS receiver in every radio flies
in the face of the single-source problem.

Well the 450 ap’s have a built in gps that works, I don’t recommend it
for long term use but just getting started is fine.
