I agree, but they are in the business of doing this, with presumably thousands
of customers.
There is no rush.

Subject: Re: [AFMUG] Mailman provider

The potential issue when I see it, is WHO is going to chase down things when
someone says I can’t get messages or I can’t send messages, etc. Unless these
guys are ultra-squeaky clean in protecting who sends mail using their servers
and to whom (across ALL their customers), it is easy to get lumped in with a
bad egg who gets the emwd server on a “do not deliver list” on a firewall
service and … then then the fun begins.

Look at any of the mailing services out there… ie constant contact, mailchimp
etc, and read the undeliverable data on a mailing you do. Some FW services
simply block the server/service, not the content itself. If that happens, I
don’t know of a workaround then anybody could do to make it work. AWS at
least is HIGHLY anal about the whole process and so far, has not had a single
instance of that.

As long as there is a person to see that through troubleshooting through to
completion and deal with it, then I guess you can try anything. That’s what it
comes down to IMO.

Not “a thing” to me at all. I am happy either way J

We rarely get blacklisted and we do we work quickly with the providing doing
the blacklist. We have not been on a RBL in years but we do have, on rare
occasions, issues with a particular provider such as Yahoo.

We fully support our list clients in all aspects of our services including
delivery issues that may come up.

We cannot control another provider marking a communication as spam. Typically
it is the message content that causes such issues and we have nothing to do
with the content of the messages being sent out.

1.. Do you ever get blacklisted and what do you do about it?
2.. Do you offer support when someone says the “list isn’t working, I can’t
get signed up, etc. etc.” ? and who interacts with them to bring about
resolution?
3.. Do you deal with “firewalls” like Baracuda which are sometimes quick to
mark things as SPAM?
