It was pointed out to me here at AnimalFarm that there is a small part of a
trace on that circuit board that will contact the grounding lug in the shelf
when being inserted or removed. Not when fully seated.

So don’t have the green power power connector attached when inserting or
removing the card. It can be field fixed with a small dot of fingernail
polish. I will be fixing the PCB on the next run to fix the interference.

I will replace any unit in the field with advance replacement.

This works flawlessly, just put it in.

Thanks again for the help

  Thank you for the info!

OK, so if you put + on the left pin and – on the right pin, then jumpers
for 1/2 and 4/5 need to be on the left and center pins and the jumpers for 3/6
and 7/8 need to be center and right pins.

Sorry, here is the pinouts with polarity

    Pin 1 +
    Pin 2 +
    Pin 3 -
    Pin 4 +
    Pin 5 +
    Pin 6 -
    Pin 7 -
    Pin 8 -

On all 8 pins? If so, then you slide all the jumpers one way and only
hook up +48 to the POE inserter. Is the –48 via chassis ground?

      Excellent! The polarity is +48vdc.

I would say yes, but that document does not indicate the DC power
polarity of the pairs. So yes, provided the jumpers on the POE are set right.

Can anyone in Exalt tech support give you the polarity info?

        Chuck,

do you know if the 800-GIGE-POE-APC will work to power up a Exalt
ExtremeAir radio?

We are being told that the DC power supplies won’t be available until
June.
