They do have smaller ones, but the cost of the mux isn't that much. Our 18 
channel ones are about $1500 for the pair, IIRC.

This looks like it supports 40 channels, I really just need one (for now), but 
if that is part of the HW config needed, 8 channel would be more than 
sufficient.
