----------------------
So theres no mail component like sendmail
Spf is a dns entry, i use rhem for relays alot
Open relays are great with ACLs, removes the authentiaction failure without
notification point of failure
--------------------------

I can sit here and say ... Yes you are correct in all of the above..

or I can be technically anal and say....

sendmail is a full fledged mail server application, it would be degrading and
wrong to call it a 'component'.
SPF is a dns entry, I use them for relays a lot.....<-----SPF is a mechanism
which allows the sender to define a valid mail sending source to the receiving
mail server.. how u are using it is a subset of the mechanism, but you are
forgetting that the receiving mail server has a great amount of 'configuration
setting leeway' as to how to use the information provided in the SPF record.

Open relays are great with ACLs ,>>>>> Ok
>>>removes the authentiaction failure without notification point of failure
>>>>>>> ????? not sure what you are saying.. but hopefully you realize that
>>>'authentication' is only used for mail 'relay' function.... and not needed
>>>for 'receiving mail' ....
