I'm not advocating this, but why?

Electric cars don't pay anything.

If I put a diesel generator into a Chevy Volt, I can use red diesel. Well, I
assume. Why can't I put red diesel into... sorry, most hybrids can engage the
combustion motor for movement.... a factory version of a Volt with a diesel?

I know one is legal and one is not, but they're basically the same thing, just
one comes with the generator and the other doesn't.

As long as you keep it off-road!
