I put one in a shelter only to discover it would not come back on after a power
outage unless you went there the turned it back on with the remote.

I can say about 8 years ago I bought some cheap off brand one. I think its
control board was damaged and I couldn't find a replacement. The discount
online place I bought it from was no longer selling or supporting it. Now I
just buy what my HVAC guy sells. While it worked, it worked well though. I
think it was less than half of the cost of the ones I buy now.

They make them with inverters (variable speed compressors) and without. The
ones without are a lot cheaper, less efficient, and typically won't remove
humidity from the air when AC is not required. I always get the ones with the
heating option as I have only used them for repeater shacks at this point.

Mitsubishi is the best but nearly everyone makes one. I think the last two I
put in was a Trane brand. Like many things these days, there few manufacturers
and many labels.
