[AFMUG] Solar controller as UPS

I'm thinking if I simply connect a 24V PSU to the solar panel terminals 
on a Morningstar Sunsaver that I have a DC UPS now.

Someone tell me why I shouldn't use a solar controller as a UPS.  Is 
there's a reason?
