If you have a customer facing credit card portal it is worth the $85/year that an EV SSL cert costs, in my opinion, for the GUI change with the big friendly green banner in most browsers.
For anything else, no, use letsencrypt. EV SSL used to cost $350-400/year, is is a lot less costly now.
