I double tap the spacebar out of habit because that's how I was taught. Honestly, I never notice the difference unless I'm intentionally looking for it. I don't know why anyone would think it was a big deal.

I was raised on two spaces as well. But after finding out that the "correct" modern way is one space, I've switched. I do agree with the tabs/spaces thing when coding.

You can tell someone's age by one or two spaces. For me that is what I was taught and bugs the hell out of me when I see single space.
