Hi everyone, Wiki Oto <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wiki_Loves_Women/_x_Africa_Wiki_Women_Wiki_OTO_2026> 2026 is here!
This year, Wiki Loves Women <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wiki_Loves_Women> and Africa Wiki Women <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Africa_Wiki_Women> are joining forces for the 2026 edition of the campaign, dedicated to improving and creating Wikidata items about African women. This year’s theme: *Women in Politics*, highlighting African women who have contributed to political life, leadership and public service. The campaign runs from *25 August to 26 September 2026*. To kick things off, we’ll host a Wikidata training session on *31 August at 3:00 PM UTC*, where participants can learn the basics and get ready to contribute. Register for the training here <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Wiki_Oto_2026>. Join the session via Zoom <https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81650327302?pwd=8jLbzq9vaq8kfNiBq0RZQq7doVs2Nb.1> . The top two contributors will receive gifts as a token of appreciation for their contributions. Join us, contribute, and help make African women more visible in free knowledge! Cheers! Afek
