Dear Wikimedia Community, Greetings from the Pan-Africa Hub <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Pan-African_Hub>.
We are reaching out to invite you to participate in community feedback on the Wikimedia Foundation’s proposal on Recognition and Funding for Movement Organizations <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Updating_the_ecosystem_of_Wikimedia_organizations/Recognition_and_Funding_for_Movement_Organizations> . The proposal introduces potential changes to how Wikimedia organizations are recognized, their organizational requirements, and their eligibility for different types of Wikimedia Foundation funding. These changes may have important implications for communities and organizations across Africa. We would like to hear your experiences, perspectives, concerns, and recommendations regarding the proposed changes. Please take a few minutes to complete the consultation form: Community Feedback Form <https://forms.gle/9QWFLiiQ81MRg5GG8>. Deadline: 27 September 2026 Your feedback will help the Pan-Africa Hub understand community perspectives and develop recommendations to share with relevant Wikimedia movement bodies. We kindly encourage you to share the form with other Wikimedia community members and organizations in your networks so that we can gather diverse perspectives from across Africa. Estimated time: 5–7 minutes. Thank you for taking the time to contribute your voice to this important discussion. Best regards, Pan-African Wikimedia Hub
