From: Brigitte Pakendorf [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, March 11, 2005 3:57 AM Please contact Brigitte Pakendorf off list at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Dear Africanists, A colleague and I are working on a cross-linguistic survey of certain forms of negative Imperatives, and one of the languages in our sample is Luvale, spoken in Angola and Zambia. Unfortunately, the grammar at our disposal (Horton 1949) does not give us enough information to really evaluate the feature in question. Therefore, we are looking for experts on the Luvale language, either linguists working on it, or ethnologists working with the people who have a good knowledge of the language, or, ideally, native speakers of Luvale. If you are such a Luvale expert, or if you know someone who is, we would appreciate it very much if you could answer a couple of questions! Please drop me an e-mail, or send one to my colleague Ewa Schalley at: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thank you in andvance for your assistance, Brigitte Pakendorf ************************************************************************ Dr. Brigitte Pakendorf Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology Deutscher Platz 6 phone +49 (0) 341 35 50 308 D-04103 Leipzig fax +49 (0) 341 35 50 333 Germany e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://email.eva.mpg.de/~pakendor/ ************************************************************************ ----- End forwarded message ----- ------------------------ Yahoo!
