In the aftermath of discussions in and around the Wikimania 2006 conference about Wikipedias in African languages, a list was created to facilitate communication and planning among people interested in working on and supporting their development. It's called AfrophoneWikis: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/afrophonewikis/
On the group homepage you can visit the "Links" to find ... links to relevant Wikimania 2006 conference pages.
