SUMMARY

This week; "Internet freedom has declined for the sixth consecutive year, with 
more governments than ever before targeting social media and communication apps 
as a means of halting the rapid dissemination of information, particularly 
during antigovernment protests," according to the Freedom on the Net 
2016<https://freedomhouse.org/report/freedom-net/freedom-net-2016> report 
released by Freedom House. On Cyberpolitics, Chinese President Xi Jinping on 
Wednesday called for increased international cooperation in cyberspace 
governance and the building of a cyberspace community of common destiny. On 
data protection, Russia has blocked access to LinkedIn after the social network 
became the first major foreign site to be found in violation of a law demanding 
that the data of Russian users is stored on Russian territory.
On Cybersecurity; in light of the last month's cyberattacks against global 
Internet routing company Dyn; members of the House of Representatives' Energy 
and Commerce Committee (U.S)held a hearing on Wednesday that examined the 
feasibility of regulating Internet of Things devices.
Moreover, many concerns continue de be raised on Donald Trump Internet 
Governance policy above all on ICANN and net neutrality.
