Live Stats, Internet continues to expand and the continent has nearly 281 
million Internet users for an average access rate of 23%. On Internet shutdown, 
Cameroon’s anglophone regions economy struck by an internet cut that has been 
in place since January 17, 2017. On data protection, The European Commission 
has released proposals for new legislation that seeks to create stronger 
privacy in electronic communications. Furthemore, Europe sets to drop roaming 
charges by June 15, 2017.
