SUMMARY

This week, more cyberpolitics on Internet governance headlines as, according to 
reports, "NSA has linked the North Korean government to the creation of the 
WannaCry ransomeware that resulted in affecting over 300,000 people in almost 
150 countries last month". In addition, China has revealed test results on its 
new quantum computing satellite. "The technology is said to provide unbreakable 
secret communications channels, based on quantum mechanics".  Moreover, Russian 
President Vladimir Putin who denies Russia alledged hacking of the 2016 US 
presidential election claims the Obama administration ignored his proposal in 
2015 on cyber war treaty.

On digital economy, a joint statement by the European Parliament, the Council 
of the European Union (EU) and the European Commission on Wednesday said that 
the end of roaming charges is at the foundation of the EU’s Digital Single 
Market and is another step towards building a united and sustainable European 
digital society.

On cyber extremism, The UK Prime Minister Theresa May and the German chancellor 
Angela Merkel have both argued that internet regulation is key.

On freedom of expression, advocacy group Human Rights Watch said that Indian 
authorities have imposed 20 shutdowns in 2017.

On net neutrality; <http://variety.com/t/netflix/> Netflix renewed its 
commitment to pro-net neutrality activism by joining dozens of other internet 
companies and public interest groups as they prepare for a net neutrality 
<http://variety.com/2017/digital/news/net-neutrality-day-of-action-1202455501/> 
day of action next month.
