SUMMARY
This week, The Second Internet and Jurisdiction conference aiming to address 
the tension between the cross-border nature of the internet and internatioal 
jurisdiction was held in Ottawa.
On US-Russia cyber threats, Russian President announced his country had 
developed new strategic nuclear weapons that are invincible. In fact, A senior 
NATO official warned Thursday that Russia "has demonstrated that it has the 
potential to be a comprehensive actor."
In Europe, the President of Lithuania has called for a “cyber Schengen” 
infrastructure to address online crime and cyber attacks in the European Union.
In China, reports have surfaced that Chinese officials censored the letter "N" 
from Chinese internet for at least a day to block online critism against 
President.
On infrastructure 5G, The European Commission called on member states of the 
European Union on Wednesday to move fast and consolidate the latest 5G 
generation of cellphone network to avoid being left behind by global 
competition elsewhere. Besides, The European Union has given Google, YouTube, 
Facebook, Twitter and other internet companies three months to show that they 
are removing extremist content more rapidly or face legislation forcing them to 
do so.

"On Right to be forgotten", Google says it has received more than 650,000 
requests to remove certain websites from its search results since a European 
court ordered the company to allow Europeans the "right to be forgotten" in 
2014.

On partnership, The GSMA and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and 
Numbers (ICANN) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at 
the Mobile World Congress to raise awareness about internet governance issues 
of mutual interest.

On encryption, Brian Acton, who co-founded WhatsApp is pouring $50 million into 
Signal, aiming to promote encrypted messaging and make it more ubiquitous.
