Hello All, In 2010, the Africa Internet technical community embraced a bold/ambitious vision to have 80% of all Internet traffic locally accessible with only 20% being sourced internationally by 2020.
The Internet Society's new report, Moving towards an Interconnected Africa: The 80/20 Initiative explores how this community changed the landscape as they tried to achieve this vision for the continent. It highlights important learnings and discusses how the continent can take advantage of IXP growth to localize 80% of its Internet traffic, making the Internet affordable, faster, better performing, and more resilient.
