In an era defined by digital transformation, access to a robust and inclusive Internet is critical for socio-economic development. AFRINIC, the Regional Internet Registry for Africa, plays a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of the continent’s Internet through Internet Number Resource (IPv4, IPv6 and ASNs) allocation and services to support Internet routing and security. This webinar aims to explore the diverse range of services and initiatives offered by AFRINIC to support and enhance Internet connectivity in Africa.

The session will be moderated by Mr. Stephen Honlue, the Project Manager and Transformation Lead, AFRINIC. With him on the panel will be; 

  • James Chirwa, Head of Member Services, AFRINIC
  • Cedrick Mbeyet, Stakeholder Development Manager, AFRINIC
  • Willy Manga, Deployment Operationalisation Engineer, AFRINIC

By the end of the webinar participants will:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of AFRINIC's role, mission, and services, providing a foundational knowledge of its impact on Internet infrastructure and connectivity in Africa.
  • Discover AFRINIC's capacity-building programs, designed to empower participants, including network engineers, operators, policymakers, and resource members, with practical knowledge to enhance their professional capabilities.
  • Explore  AFRINIC's initiatives in advancing Internet infrastructure, including the promotion of IPv6 and efforts to improve network resilience.
