Thanks Vic and John!
Vic - thanks, but that only works on the home page. Try it on one of the
other pages.
This is an old script that's worked forever but stopped working
within the past
year and I'm just now getting around to fixing it. For some reason,
I can
view the page in IE, but GLPro cannot see it. It times-out. I use
the default
timeout (10 seconds). The page takes less than 1 second to load.
I'm extremely puzzled. I even changed the method to give it a
different
User-Agent, no difference other than it's now storing a cookie.
It still times-out.
I also tried the FILEGET with the same page, same result - time-out! This
is so frustrating. I really don't want to rewrite this entire app because
of this one issue. I could always write a dll, but that's a lot of work for
this one tiny problem. I just can't understand why GLPro is timing-out on a
few particular pages that it's always worked on. The pages load fine in IE.
If I viewsource them, it's just text (no html) - which is what I'm
expecting.
John - thanks for the vbscript idea, but I really don't want to write
another script, save it, launch it, wait for the result, etc, etc. If there
are firewalls involved, it's a mess for that solution. I'm just frustrated
because I can't see what GLPro is trying to do - even with the DEBUGNET ON,
it's not telling me something....any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Kelly

Hi Kelly,
I think you just need the double @ on the getvar variable - - so this works
fine for me:
set web "http://quote.yahoo.com"
http OPEN @web
if @httpERROR==0
http GETVAR "/index.html" buf
messagebox @@buf "Contents"
free buf
endif
exitnow
If you're getting a number then that's reading the address of where the data
was stored, and you need the double indirection @@ in front of the variable
name to read it as a string.
There is more information in the GLpro help [F1] under HTTP GETVAR.
I hope that helps.
Good luck!
Vicky
