Ambil contoh misalnya, Anda hapal berapa jumlah tukang tambal ban yang berada di jalan yang Anda lewati tiap harinya dari rumah menuju kantor dan sebaliknya? Baik disisi kanan, maupun disisi kiri. Aneh sekali bila dia tidak ngeh dimana tukang tambal ban terdekat. Nah, ditambah keengganannya untuk bertanya, membuat ia harus mendorong motornya sejauh kira-kira ratusan meter. Padahal andai saja dia bertanya, tukang tambal ban terdekat berada tak jauh. Bukan hanya tenaga yang banyak terbuang, waktu pun banyak tersita. Dengan memperhatikan situasi sekitar, kita juga akan mengetahui apa yang harus dilakukan. Anda tentu tidak dituntut untuk mengetahui atau menghapal segala sesuatunya. Tetapi, minimal Anda mengetahui untuk melakukan apa yang seharusnya dilakukan bila situasi dan kondisi mengharuskan hal itu. Apalagi ditambah saat ini dengan kemajuan teknologi. Segala sesuatunya menjadi lebih mudah. Seorang kawan yang tengah bekerja dikantor mendapat laporan dari pengasuhnya bila anaknya mengalami luka parah di dahinya ketika sedang bermain. Maka tindakan pertama yang dilakukannya adalah menelpon tetangga sebelah untuk meminta tolong membawakan anaknya ke rumah sakit terdekat untuk segera ditangani. Bisa dibayangkan bila ia tak menyimpan nomor telepon tetangganya. Padahal kecepatan waktu disini sangat penting. Itulah mengapa pentingnya Anda memperhatikan keadaan sekitar. Tak hanya melihat saja.
