Dikatakan Kemal, andaikata RIM mau mendirikan server di Indonesia, salah satu keuntungannya adalah keamanan lalu lintas data para penggguna BlackBerry lebih terjamin . "Dari segi keamanan akan lebih reliable. Sangat membantu dari sisi user juga. Contohnya, user corporate bisa menambah fitur-fitur keamanan pada BlackBerry mereka," kata Kemal ketika dihubungi detikINET, Kamis (5/8/2010). Keuntungan lainnya menurut Kemal, hal ini tentunya akan berdampak pada koneksi yang lebih cepat dan akses aplikasi BlackBerry yang lebih murah. Namun diakui Kemal, masalah mendirikan server di Indonesia ini harus dikaji lebih dalam lagi, terutama jika menyangkut keamanan karena lalu lintas data dalam layanan BlackBerry dinilai mencurigakan. "Terkait masalah keamanan ini, pemerintah undang saja RIM untuk mendiskusikannya. Saya setuju kalau RIM punya kantor di Indonesia. Begitu juga dengan pernyataan pemerintah (tidak akan memblokir layanan BlackBery)," ujarnya. Kemal juga berpendapat, pemerintah harus melakukan konferensi pers memberitahukan masyarakat bahwa apa yang ditakutkan itu tidak benar.
