*Belut Listrik*
electric-eel.jpgBelut listrik adalah salah satu penghuni mematikan di sungai Amerika Selatan. Bukan hanya satu, tapi tiga organ khusus untuk menghasilkan arus listrik cukup kuat (*600 volt, kadang-kadang lebih*) cukup untuk membuat pingsan atau membunuh manusia dewasa. Hal ini diyakini sebagai penjelasan bahwa banyaknya orang hilang yg sedang berenang di sungai Amazon dan Orinoco, dapat disebabkan karena mereka menjadi terkejut oleh belut listrik lalu tenggelam. Banyak dari kematian ini sering disalahkan pada serangan oleh hewan pemangsa seperti piranha atau caiman (sebangsa buaya).
