Selasa (9/6/11), Indonesia dipermalukan di kandang sendiri oleh Bahrain 0-2. Wim menilai, postur tubuh pemain Timur Tengah dan Bahrain khususnya, yang lebih tinggi dari rata-rata pemain Indonesia menjadi faktor utama. "Masalahnya, mereka tinggi. Kita seharusnya bermain bola bawah dan bergerak. Jika Anda main lambung maka tidak efektif. Pemain harus siap menerima bola. Tetapi bermain bola bawah juga tidak mudah," ujar Wim pada saat jumpa pers pascapertandingan. Tak lama setelah Wim, Taylor juga hadir dalam jumpa pers tersebut. Saat dikonfirmasi mengenai perbedaan postur, Taylor membantah. Gol pertama yang dicetak oleh Shayeed Dhiya menjadi penegasan Taylor. “Saya rasa saya tidak setuju dengan hal itu. Gol pertama dicetak pemain muda berusia 19 tahun yang tidak terlalu tinggi. Bukan dari bola lambung. Ia menusuk dari sisi lapangan ke dalam kotak penalti,” ujarnya. “Gol kedua juga terjadi dari hasil umpan terobosan,” lanjut pelatih asal Inggris itu, menjelaskan proses gol kedua yang dicetak Ismail Abdul-Latif. Coach Wim, yang baru melatih Indonesia awal Juli lalu juga berkilah bahwa tim yang ia miliki sekarang adalah tim yang sudah lebih dulu terbentuk sementara ia tak punya cukup waktu untuk membentuk timnya sendiri. Namun hal ini tidak terjadi dengan Peter Taylor, yang juga baru menangani Bahrain sejak 11 Juli lalu. Timnya berhasil menahan Qatar, 23 peringkat diatasnya, dengan skor 0-0 dan menaklukkan Indonesia yang berada 30 peringkat di bawahnya. Wim sendiri sebenarnya punya lebih banyak waktu mengenal pemain Indonesia dibandingkan Taylor.
