How do you know that the decision making of the ai wasn't way superior to the one of the humans? Do you think you would recognize it if you saw it? Why? Say you play a chess computer and it uses a 40 move checkmate. If it doesn't tell you when it finds it that you will be checkmate in 40 then you are not going to ever find out that it was a 40 move checkmate (and not just the 10 or 15 move one you realized at some point).
If you look at the outcome predictions it seems the AI was always quite sure it was winning.
