"My long-term goal is to fuse mathematics, neuroscience, and computer science into a single effort leading to AGI and beyond."
Steve. I appreciate you saying "...leading to...", but I'm not sure your approach would be fruitful without at least considering a specialized combination of all, known sciences. Why could a suitable departure point for AGI not be Haramein's publications on Unified Field Theory? https://resonance.is/events/unified-field-theory-nassim-haramein-madrid-spain/ [https://resonance.is/wp-content/uploads/MADRID.jpg]<https://resonance.is/events/unified-field-theory-nassim-haramein-madrid-spain/> The Unified Field Theory of Nassim Haramein - Madrid, Spain - Resonance Science Foundation<https://resonance.is/events/unified-field-theory-nassim-haramein-madrid-spain/> Presented by Jamie Janover Ambassador for Nassim Haramein & Resonance Science Foundation Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016 Madrid, Spain Venue: The Malone Studio Address: c/ Pelayo, 50 – Local Time: 5:00-9:00pm Cost: 15 Euros This presentation will be in English with translations in Spanish More Info. I might also be the only one on this list who has actually held a job as a mathematician at a university department (University of Washington Physics and Astronomy Department). You appear to be clueless in this venue, at least as it intersects with neuroscience. My long-term goal is to fuse mathematics, neuroscience, and computer science into a single effort leading to AGI and beyond. Please excuse my talking down to this audience - in my possibly hopeless efforts to guide this fusion. My main impediment seems to be the few talented people in each of those disciplines who ignorantly dismiss the value of those in the other disciplines. People like you, who see things that obviously are part of the function of neurosystems, but can't (yet?) grok their mathematical significance, so they can apply this understanding to their programming. There are others like you in the other disciplines - like Colin, who immediately dismissed the prospect of ANY sort of mathematics operating in neurons, etc. So, like a fisherman with his line out, I continue looking for people with "a light in the attic". It appears that my posting was wasted on you. My condolences. AAAARGGH!!!! YOU FUCKING IMBICILES!!! YOU COME ON THIS GODDAMN LIST WITHOUT DOING YOUR MOTHERFUCKING HOMEWORK!!!! I mean I had deluded myself into thinking that each of you had a bare minimum of intelligence and were aware of the importance of educating yourself before entering this most important field of study. But no, you haven't. You are just jerking off on your keyboard because you want your gynoid GF without doing your goddamn homework first. I strongly suspect biological synapses are tagged in some way to only connect with other synapses carrying dimensionally compatible information. IT'S CALLED A RECEPTIVE SITE, MORON! Each receptive site on each dendrite is a protein that binds to one of a dozen or so neurotransmitters. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurotransmitter The method that neurons form generative 'connections' is irrelevant to the capability of neural activity to transmit data. The brain must be able to form reactions and to make choices like inhibiting or activating different kinds of reactions to some event. This means that the brain must be reacting across some distances. It could be done by long synapses, I have no way of knowing. Seriously, you can skip over part 2 of the book which gets into the gory molecular detais of everything, but everything else in the book is fucking important!!! It will make you look less stupid, if nothing else. =| -- Please report bounces from this address to [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Powers are not rights.
