John, I petitioned EyeBuyDirect to produce glasses that would mislead facial recognition devices. I even volunteered to do the optical engineering needed to assure success. They responded that they sell to the market, and so far, I was the ONLY one requesting such glasses. I suspect that with enough money to purchase a carload of such glasses and sell them into China, someone could throw a BIG monkey wrench into facial recognition. Their "cover story" would be that they hide ugly eyes, and provide for cat-eyes and other artistic eyes.
Of course facial recognition isn't the only such issue. It appears to be possible to build a device that emulates a cell tower, but only to certain cell phones, which would provide for SECURE communications. Also, such a device could connect to cell towers to relay calls, thereby obscuring the locations of the phones. There are relatively simply ways to subvert these early AI systems. Countermeasures should be deployed quickly, before enough money is concentrated to literally throw billions of dollars at overcoming countermeasures. Do you happen to know anyone with a million dollars or so, who might like to invest it into developing such products? This really wouldn't take a fortune to get going. This could easily start out as a garage-sized business. Thoughts? Simply institute a six hour workday. That will easily create enough new jobs to bring back full employment. ------------------------------------------ Artificial General Intelligence List: AGI Permalink: https://agi.topicbox.com/groups/agi/T48b3b969c849a2e5-Ma9a2fdd284a90d9b6a07cd94 Delivery options: https://agi.topicbox.com/groups/agi/subscription
