What are you building?? A huge chip? How big. And what algorithm? What will it 'do'? And, how can you see what happens in it? So lost. Why not generate a viz on the computer showing its activity?
First of all, go to OpenAI's website and read the GPT-2 blog post, and try it at TalkToTransformer. It generates realistic text using a technique in our brains. This is closer to AGI because it does something our brains do. Second, a brain can be ran on a computer, especially if controls a robot body and runs the mind I/O.
