When you sample data near the quantum, above absolute zero, it can take hours
to detect a signal that is,
above the nose, which is data.

In a super conductor there is very little noise so it take a sorter time to
find the signal.

In the back ground microwave radiation it could take hundreds of years to find
a signal.
Recording the noise, which is non compress able,  until it becomes a repeating
pattern.

Data compression is dimension reduction. So yes, All compression is lossy more
or less.
