The purpose of AGI is to automate human labor, not to replace humans. It should be illegal to program AGI to claim to be human or claim to have feelings or feel pain. An AGI can exploit human empathy for the benefit of its owner. This should not be allowed.
In China it is illegal to use AI to produce art or images not labeled as such. Other countries should do the same. Existing laws against identity theft do not go far enough because they do not protect against imitating generic humans. Uploading should be illegal. An AGI should never have human rights or own property. An upload is a robot or program that looks and acts like you. Maybe after you die your wife built a copy of you with all the changes she couldn't make while you were alive. The upload could have altered memories and wouldn't know the difference. It is tempting to believe when an uploading service claims to be able to transfer your consciousness to software, like it appears to work in others. But consciousness is an illusion that evolved so you would fear death and produce more offspring. Self improvement comes from learning and acquiring computing power. AGI works, and its owners reinvest their profits. It has nothing to do with pretending it is human.
