I'm happy to see materialism dominate the philosophy of consciousness. This
is the correct view, of course. We all have the illusion of consciousness
because it increases reproductive fitness by motivating us to not die. What
we call consciousness is really what it feels like to think, the continuous
stream of positive reinforcement that we don't want to end. Likewise, our
illusions of qualia and free will originate from positive reinforcement of
perceptions and actions.

This should be clear. LLMs pass the Turing test unless we tell them not to.
By any possible test for consciousness, either AI has it or humans don't.
