The Kngine blog has a great link to an online textbook on Information
Retrieval.

I am a little skeptical of the whole statistical based AGI thing so this
textbook will be a great resource for me to find some of the stuff I have
missed. I am, of course, interested indexing and stuff like that and perhaps
keeping statistics on derived abstract processes that can be used like rules in
rule-based AI (rather than on the occurrences of a data event in observable
data) might help me to maximize the potential for the integration of abstract
principles (like rules or effective procedures).
