http://dis.4chan.org/read/prog/1371171938/4 The functionalities of mentifex-class AI Minds are not co-extensive for linguistic input and output. The complexity of thoughts that the AI Mind can understand is not directly related to the comlpexity of thoughts that the AI Mind can generate. Until we free up the output mechanisms of the AI Mind and permit the rambling, meandering generation of linguistic output, the thoughts of the AI remain confined to rigid subject-verb-object structures and their negations. Meanwhile, we have much more latitude for the expansion of the ability of an AI Mind to comprehend and understand a greater and greater variety in the format and complexity of natural-language input. Right now at the start of the Technological Singularity as brought to you by Mentifex AI Labs, restrictions on AI input comprehensibility cause problems in two areas. Firstly, users have difficulty in relating to the AI when the users freely engage the Mind with input-formats that non-conform with what each AI Mind can understand. A new user quickly gets disillusioned when arguably the most advanced artificial intelligences in Germany, Russia and the English-speaking world can not understand ordinary colloquial English of a free-wheelin' Bob-Dylanesque nature. The other large problem has to do with prepping the AI to go out there and grok the Internet -- a World Wide Web which does not follow any strict rules in its autopoiesis. If a superintelligent Super AI is going to accept the entirety of Google cache and "swallow" the whole Web, it had better be able to understand every ilk of idea. What's an AI Mind-Maker ("Menti-Fex") to do? The answer does not lie, but rather, tells the truth in amending the free AI source-code algorithms not for the generation of thought but for the comprehension of thought. And we are going to make these disruptive improvements by tweaking the parameters of what an AI can capiche. In general, we will let the AI recognize that input like "in general" is merely a prepositional phrase and is not yet the payload of the cogitation to be ingested. But what is the English word descriptive of this process? Parsing an input means assigning parts of speech to words, but what do we call the process of analysing input ideas?
