Since China has a command economy, they can put their money where it suits them. They have done this with healthcare and with their railway system. They have many bright minds there as well. Ben Goertzel is there too... They'll get it done. ~PM From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: [agi] Chinese 82 billion US$ automation project Date: Tue, 26 Nov 2013 01:05:03 +0100
http://nextbigfuture.com/2013/11/if-82-billion-is-pilot-program-for.html I asked myself whether China is indeed able to spend such an enormous amout of money in a useful way over such a short period like five years. I mean do they really have so many of the suitably educated people with sufficient experience to reasonably implement or even coordinate such a huge project? To me its also a bit suspicious that there is so few detail about how such a milestone project is going to be executed. Who is getting the money. Is the money only going to be spent on existing technology or is there going to be a vast R&D effort involved.Which Chinese companies (be it as machine/robot supplier or project coordinators) and universities will be involved? Is the aim only to implemet robots for production automation or do they also seek to improve IT infrastructure to make office jobs more efficient – maybe even including AI of some sort? Any thoughts? --Frank AGI | Archives | Modify Your Subscription ------------------------------------------- AGI Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/303/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/303/21088071-f452e424 Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=21088071&id_secret=21088071-58d57657 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
