Todor,

I mostly agree with what you said early on in your blog,

“I always ask: so what exactly is hard about which art? I don't see anything
hard in any art, all is obvious.”

Being a "lapsed" artist and having worked in the media arts in various
capacities and following these over the years as computer technology
progressed, going from traditional media to computer based media, I actually
see the creation capacity of computers dwarf the production capability of
people. And many artists intuitively know this but typically won’t admit.

If you look at all the different artistic creation softwares most are used to
assist in artistic creation, their variety is overwhelming especially when the
assistance capability increases as the software sophistication increases. Less
and less is left to the creator of the art.

I personally would like to spend time focused on building automated/autonomous
artistic creation. There are softwares that do this already ones that
auto-generate visual and audio creations, textual and other. My goal would be
to work on some of the mathematics of artistic creation and implement those
ideas in software…someday… Working on something like this can be an exercise
similar to working on AGI technology itself but easier.

IMO an advantage of exploring the use of artistic communication with computers
is that it expands the symbol space expression of communication complexity
using dynamic and open ended communications protocol to stimulate and capture
cognitive activity. Much of this can be automated not requiring AGI, but, there
are many facets of art that would require AGI and AGI technology would allow
for a vastly improved artistic creation within the non-AGI model of creation.
Surly there are some forms of art that you can image that would require AGI?
