I agree with this blog post ( DeepFace ... Linda Lovelace ;). Obviously, too, people are using recent hipper sounding jargon, like "deep," everything is deep, although chaining neural networks together is as old as the hills... and also one hears "cognitive computing," and the ever present optimistic phrase "our software 'understands'" -- always without defining what "understand" even means. But I think what we are seeing is "passing the Turing test in a limited way," which is the same as saying not passing the Turing test...
