Initially, we based our theoretical model on non-stereotyped action potentials. In the academic environment the theory was received with skepticism . Only later we realized that they tried to preserve mathematical theory of temporal coding (stereotyped spikes) and classical “connectivity”. In fact it was a concerted effort in neuroscience to hide any information regarding non-stereotyped spikes and to preserve the dogma.
