We don't even know how many species there are on the planet,
much less how all of them behave and interact with the environment.
There is and endless amount of information to be had because it is
continually evolving.

We relatively recently learned that in the deep dark of the sea, fish
use lights to attract each other. That there are creatures which grow
to adult form and then grow backwards into polyps. That there are
extremophiles living as much as 12 km deep in the crust.

Biology is nanotechnology, it is the most successful nanotechnology to
date. Living at the limit of what light and nutrients can provide.
Nanoarchaeum for instance are smaller than a micron in diameter.

Ya, just like atoms right? we'll just stop using atoms, cause you know
that's old school.
So simple!, we can put it all in a periodic table,
everything there is to know about them is done.
Time to move onto better stuff.

I hope you recognize I'm demonstrating your argument through analogy.
