One idea for the philosophy of the organization is to be a hybrid AGI organization, and not to have any defined approach. We could have different approaches tied together by a central AGI system which sends data to each of the approaches and learns which approach is best able to provide useful results for which kinds of problems. That way we would gain the benefits of all of the approaches. We could specialize in not specializing.
Of course individual researchers would be able to specialize on their particular approach if they wish, and this should be encouraged since people who specialize at a thing are better at that thing then those who aren't specialized in it. This would also allow us to measure the current value of a given AGI approach against others, which would be valuable information for the field of AGI. It would also allow us to produce a workable system that could be of immediate value for commercial purposes, while still allowing for long term research projects to join in at any time as long as they conform to the interface of the central AGI system which is something we would all have to agree on as being workable for all (or at least most) approaches.
