Causality is a very subtle notion

Evolutionary wiring is one cause of a lot of our problems.  A lot of our
innate inclinations toward jealously, aggression, status-seeking and so
forth have clear evolutionary roots.

On a deeper level, lack of infinite computational capacity is a root cause
of a lot of our problems.  It requires the brain to embody a lot of
compromises and rough heuristics, which lead us astray from making optimal
judgments in many cases.

Most real things have multiple causes, in multiple senses of "causation" --
"cause" is not a neat mathematical concept by any means...

I agree that it will develop SOME destructive emotions, and I think that any
mind necessarily will develop SOME destructive emotions -- which it then
will hopefully learn to master, on its path to maturity...

But I think that an AGI mind doesn't need to have the same EXTENT of
destructive emotions as the average human has, because of the lack of human
evolutionary wiring...
