yah -- we have conceived a mechanism of "creative Mind-Units" in which copies of parts of the mind are placed, and then allowed to be acted on with wild abandon. Periodically a decision is made whether to merge the creative products back into the primary mind-space or not. of course, we are a ways away from implementing that. But it's actually trivial to implement once one has done the big job of getting all the important cognitive processes working together in the first place ;-p Novamente eventually should have an advantage over humans in this area, because it can truly insulate a portion of itself and allow wide-ranging, totally wild and crazy thinking to go on, knowing it's not going to screw up its main mind that way... Sorta like creating a copy of your brain and letting the copy trip on acid, and then taking the insights into your main brain without taking the flashbacks too ;-D -- ben G ------- To unsubscribe, change your address, or temporarily deactivate your subscription, please go to http://v2.listbox.com/member/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
