If the US military were to create the first superpowerful AGI and
launch a Singularity, this could be a very dangerous thing -- not so
much because they would be able to impose their own moral values on
the superhuman AGI, but rather because they might be so focused on
short-term dangers (e.g. enemy nations and terrorists) that they fail
to pay attention to long-term dangers (related to the possibly bad
outcomes of iterative self-modifying superhuman AGI).
