In that case, the "vision of an endpoint" is exactly your working
definition of intelligence, with its strength and limitation. In this
context, a "definition" doesn't have to be like things we run into in
textbooks and dictionaries. Other options are possible. No matter
which path you take, you cannot escape from this choice and its
consequences. That is why this debate is so annoying --- when you
think you can stay away from it and just do your thing, you have
already taken a side in it.
