12. A well defined project goal, including test criteria. About 1.5 years ago we discussed optical character recognition, which is not AGI but has some potential short term income, requires solving some prerequisite problems in vision and language modeling, and is feasible on a small budget. However, it went nowhere. YKY, do you want to build AGI or make money?
